An important issue that has come up this weekend is "babies having babies". I think that if two people are not married, or aren't stable financially, they should not bring children into that situation. Expecially if they're not able to even take care of themselves. I think that teenagers, are too quick to think and too quick to make decisions. How are you meant to take care of a child, when u still need your parents to wake you up for school in the morning? It avsolutly amazes me how 13 and 15 year olds are having babies and clain that they are responsible enough. When the reason why they are having the child is because they werent responsible in the first place. A child needs a stable life, having a baby is not a joke. It changes everything, and it shouldnt be a game of "lets see how long it lives". This weekend there was a story about a 13 year old boy and a 15 year old girl that were having a baby. When the boy(Alfie Patten) was asked how he was going to support the baby financially he answered "whats financially". That reponse just proved me right. Babies should not be having Babies.

I really like the fire behind your blog. I like the way you included that quote; it almost made me laugh out loud because it was so ridiculous. Be careful that your ideas don't turn into a rant. Make sure you include more factual information to back up your opinions. Please give each blog a title - it makes it easier to access. In addition, take more care when proofreading.

Hey Chantel.. I'm in london as you know and little Alfie is Britain's youngest known father. Ha.. Can you imagine calling someone your dad, when he looks almost 10, and barelly reaches 4 feet. I heard this on the news and began asking my family questions about the area's customs. Well, apperantly the governement grants you weekly paychecks for baby care expenses. Also, if your baby's father and yourself is unemployed, that's another paycheck. If you'er left without a home and a baby to look after, the government gives you an apartment, or "flat" on top of that. I was told that these perks made teenagers, or preteens want to be pregnant that much more. Hmm.. but they say billions of pounds somehow just disappeared from the british government.

Hey Chantel, I do indeed agree with many of the things you are saying. Teenagers today, for the most part are not responsible enough to raise a child. However children never come with instructions, so like anything you learn how to become good at it.
ReplyDeleteAlso if you think about it 20 even 30 years ago women got married really early in life and had babies really early. Age is nothing but a number it depends on the capability of the individual. Raising children are hard work, they change everything but it has been said that before they are born one can't imagine their life with them but after they are born you can't imagine living with out them. I think the whole issue with babies having babies is bascially this. We all know that teenagers are harmonal and want to have sex, they should be aware of the consequences they can face from doing it. If your having sex and whats more is if your having unprotected sex be prepared for a pregnacny.
It is the job of teachers and parents to make sure that kids know what they are doing. Perhaps even including stricter sex education plans in the curriculem. If you solve the original problem,it prevents the other ones from coming about.
